I am a Denver-based photographer focused on portraits for advertising and editorial clients. I'm proud to be called an art director's photographer since I worked as an art director for years.

Before my time as an art director, I went to photography school and assisted for some famous names in New York and San Francisco. While working on some incredible shoots I was always impressed by the art director and creative director's dedication to the idea. I concepted my own ads, built a book and ended up working for some great agencies with well-known consumer brands like Nike, HP, Adobe, Habitat for Humanity and Wyoming Tourism Board, as well as some business to business brands like Jeppesen, Trimble and Gates.

While working as an AD, I was lucky enough to have great creative partners and client's who trusted me to shoot campaign after campaign. Some of that work has been featured in industry blogs and at local and national award shows.

Why am I telling you this long story? Because I know what it's like to come up with a brilliant idea, sell it to a client, bring it to life and then work like mad to maintain the project's integrity as it runs the gauntlet of approvals. I know that every AD has to consider where to fit the headline and logo and that the pressure to make every shot work for multiple channels from outdoor to display is ever-present. And ultimately, I know that every AD hopes that the photographer and his team will bring their own spin to make the idea better.
